All pools need pH balancing in order to maintain an ideal 7.4-7.6 pH level for swimming. While they have gained in popularity due to a reduced need to use and handle chemicals, salt water pools are particularly in need of regular pH balancing. Adding salt increases the pool’s pH level and these need to be regularly watched. Salt also is more damaging to accessories and equipment and can lead to additional servicing of these parts.
